1. Who we are

teechr (teechr.co) is a service of SAS KERAPPS (“we”), a French company (SIREN 910 389 899, VAT FR73910389899). Contact: hello@teechr.co. Full company details are in the legal notice.

2. These terms

These terms apply to everyone who uses teechr, and to the purchase of the Starter and Premium subscriptions and of lesson credits. Some rules apply only to consumers, meaning people acting outside their trade or profession; those rules say so.

By creating an account, you accept these terms.

The English and French versions have the same content. If they ever differ, the French version prevails.

3. The service

  • teechr turns a teacher's course slides and files into a short narrated video, called a lesson, of about two to three minutes, with diagrams and a closing quiz question.
  • Accepted files are .pptx, .pdf, .txt and .md, up to 60 slides or pages and 20 MB.
  • Teachers sign in with one of the ways the sign-in page offers: Google, Microsoft, or their email address and a password. Each account belongs to one confirmed email address, and every way of signing in with that address opens the same account. If you use a password, keep it to yourself: whoever knows it can use your account.
  • Each video has its own unlisted link, https://teechr.co/v/<id>, from the moment its script is written, and every change you save, voiceovers included, goes out on that link. Anyone who has the link can watch the video without an account. You decide who you share it with. From your library you can also list a video publicly: it then appears on teechr's examples page at an address of its own, https://teechr.co/l/<id>, which search engines may index, until you make it private again.
  • Scripts and voiceovers are generated by AI from your material. They may contain errors or omissions. Read the script, and correct it if needed, before you share the link.
  • teechr may change over time. We try to keep it available, but interruptions can happen, for example for maintenance.

4. Plans and lessons

  • Free: 1 lesson for the lifetime of the account. The number of free lessons given out each day across all accounts is limited; when they are gone, try again the next day.
  • Starter: €7.99 per month, VAT included, as shown at checkout, for 5 lessons per monthly billing period.
  • Premium: €14.99 per month, VAT included, as shown at checkout, for 10 lessons per monthly billing period.
  • Unused Starter or Premium lessons carry over to the next billing period, up to 5 on Starter and 10 on Premium, as long as the same subscription renews. They end when the subscription ends; a new subscription starts without them.
  • Lesson credits: Starter and Premium subscribers can buy lesson credits in packs of 12 credits for €20, VAT included. One credit is one lesson. Credits are used only once the lessons of the current billing period have run out. They do not expire, and they stay usable if the subscription ends.
  • In US dollars: customers in the United States and its territories pay in US dollars: Starter US$7.99 per month, Premium US$14.99 per month, and lesson credits US$20 for a pack of 12. These prices do not include sales tax, which is added at checkout where it applies. An account that has subscribed keeps the currency of its subscription.
  • Schools and universities: plans for institutions are agreed separately, at a flat price set out in a quote. Where a quote differs from these terms, the quote prevails for that customer.
  • A lesson is used when a script generation starts, or when you confirm voicing a video that did not start as a lesson, such as an imported one. If the generation fails, the lesson is given back, but what the failed attempt cost still counts against your plan's allowance for the period.
  • A lesson covers writing its script, voicing it and voicing it again after edits. Editing the text is free.
  • Each lesson, including one from a credit, has a technical spending ceiling of US$1 for AI and voice processing. It can limit very long courses and how many times a lesson can be voiced again. Before a lesson starts, the studio tells you whether a course fits.

5. Price and payment

  • Payment is handled by Stripe, through Stripe Checkout. You enter your payment details on Stripe's pages; teechr never receives or stores them.
  • The price is the one shown at checkout: VAT included for a price in euros, sales tax added where it applies for a price in US dollars. Promotion codes may be accepted there.
  • A subscription starts when payment is confirmed and renews automatically every month until you cancel. Each renewal is charged to your payment method.
  • A purchase of lesson credits is a single payment, made from your plan in the studio.
  • You can switch between Starter and Premium in Stripe's customer portal. The change, and any price difference for the current period, are shown there before you confirm.
  • If a renewal payment fails, you cannot start new lessons from your subscription until you update your payment method, from your plan in the studio. Your credits stay usable.
  • If the price of your subscription changes, you will be told by email before the new price applies to you, and you can cancel before then.
  • Invoices are available in Stripe's customer portal: in the studio, open your plan and choose Manage subscription.

6. Cancellation

  • You can cancel at any time: in the studio, open your plan and choose Manage subscription, which opens Stripe's customer portal.
  • Your subscription stays active until the end of the period you have paid for. The account then returns to the Free plan, and lessons carried over end. Credits you have not used stay yours.
  • Videos you have made stay in your library, and their links keep working.
  • A period that has started is not refunded, in whole or in part, except under the right of withdrawal below or where the law requires it.

7. Right of withdrawal (consumers)

If you are a consumer, you can withdraw from your subscription within 14 days of the day you subscribe, and from a purchase of lesson credits within 14 days of the purchase, without giving a reason.

To withdraw, send a clear statement to hello@teechr.co before the 14 days are over, for example using the model form below. We then refund all payments received for the subscription or the credit purchase within 14 days of receiving it, using the payment method you used.

8. Your content

  • You keep all rights to the course material you upload and to the videos made from it.
  • You allow us to store, process, copy and show that content, and to send it to the providers named in the privacy policy, only as far as needed to run teechr for you, including playing your videos to anyone who has their link.
  • You must hold the rights needed to upload your material, such as slides, text and images, and to share the videos made from it.
  • You are responsible for the videos made from your material and for who you share their links with.

9. Acceptable use

  • Do not upload or share content that is unlawful or that infringes someone else's rights.
  • Do not try to get around plan limits, disrupt the service or access another person's account.
  • If a video or an account breaks these rules or the law, we may take the video offline or suspend the account, and we will tell you why.
  • To report content, email hello@teechr.co with the video's link and what is wrong with it. We look at every report promptly, take down content that breaks these terms or the law, and tell you what we decided.

10. Liability

  • AI-generated content can be inaccurate. Checking a video before you share it is your responsibility.
  • Consumers benefit from the legal guarantee of conformity for digital content and digital services under the French Consumer Code. Nothing in these terms limits the rights consumers have by law.
  • For professional customers, our liability is limited to the amounts paid for teechr in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim.

11. Personal data

How teechr handles personal data is described in the privacy policy.

12. Changes to these terms

These terms may change, for example when the service or the law changes. Account holders are told about significant changes before they apply, and can cancel their subscription if they do not accept them.

13. Complaints and applicable law

  • For any complaint, write first to hello@teechr.co.
  • These terms are governed by French law. Consumers keep the protection of the mandatory rules of the country where they live, and can bring a claim before the courts the law designates.
  • For disputes with professional customers, the courts of Vannes, France, have jurisdiction.
